What is the Mobile Outreach Response and Engagement (M.O.R.E.) Program?
The M.O.R.E. Program is a collaborative initiative involving the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Firelands Regional Medical Center that was launched in July 2023. This program’s purpose is to provide rapid, community-based mental health intervention and support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The Mobile Outreach Program includes a team of mental health professionals who respond to crises in various settings, such as homes, schools, and other community locations. They offer immediate crisis intervention, assessment, and linkage to ongoing mental health services.
Since its launch, there has been an increase in access to mental health services. By responding to crisis in various settings, such as homes and schools, the program has strengthened community ties and increased awareness of mental health resources.
