Mobile Outreach Response & Engagement (M.O.R.E.) Program

What is the Mobile Outreach Response and Engagement (M.O.R.E.) Program?
The M.O.R.E. Program is a collaborative initiative involving the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Firelands Regional Medical Center, Counseling & Recovery Services that was launched in July 2023. This program’s purpose is to provide rapid, community-based intervention and support to individuals who may frequently come into contact with law enforcement while experiencing severe behavioral health problems or crises. The M.O.R.E.  Program includes a team of mental health professionals and law enforcement who collaboratively outreach in response to referrals received from community partners. Timely outreach is provided in various settings, such as homes and other community locations. The M.O.R.E. team can provide rapid triage, intervention, assessment,  and linkage to ongoing behavioral health services.

Since its launch, there has been an increase in access to mental health services. By responding to crisis in various settings, such as homes and other community locations, the program has strengthened community ties and increased awareness of mental health resources.
